Similar issue to the last review. The app’s time settings don’t allow you to add or change. The website is not user-friendly. There is no way to change port forwarding. The app is missing many key features. You need an ASUS update! Updated: The 7/11/22 update has caused routers to need to be factory reset following a reboot. There are no devices that will connect.
It has been working flawlessly for many years. Since the last update, when I open the app it says that I have «linked a remote social account» and to enable remote connections. Problem is, I never did. I never wanted to. It kept saying «login», and I feel like it’s a constant loop of trying to log in. Is anyone trying to hack my router’s security? Is there something wrong? What can I do to disable the «link from a social accounts» I have never requested? Tnx.
I have been unable to connect with my router using this «new» app. This is obviously still in beta. The app seems to be only able to connect to the router if it is set to factory default, and not my currently configured settings. It cannot connect to router via photo scan. Please revert back to the original app that worked perfectly.
This app has been used by me for many years to control routers in multiple locations at different clients. It was not working on my S20 and S22. I couldn’t connect to the routers that I had programed. To test if it would work, I removed the app and reinstalled. It deleted all my routers and won’t let me connect. The app reports a connection problem and then tells me to restart my router and try again. Now I am uninstalling.
The app has been unable to connect to the router for the last few weeks, making it essentially inoperable. The app is installed on my device so it’s obvious that I am connected. It didn’t work. I was frustrated that it had to be unplugged every night in order to turn it off. The ability to set a timer to prevent access was a great feature.
Although I managed to complete the initial WiFi setup without problems, the app now crashes shortly after launch. It does this because a legal agreement popup is displayed, rendering it inoperable for setting up settings. The problem continued to persist even after I restarted my phone and tried again to reinstall the app. Google search returned a ridiculous recommendation by Asus. It blamed Android System WebView, and recommended uninstalling it.
This is a great replacement for browsing router access. It can sometimes have problems connecting. Strangely, I have to connect at 5Ghz because other networks or bands won’t work. Perhaps this is what people complain about. As long as the IP range remains identical, Asus allows access! It can be difficult to get used to. App is almost like bipolar.
Hello, I’m using the Android Asus Router App. And, I have created custom icons to represent more than one device connected to my Asus Wirelesd Router. After a while, they get misplaced and are then reset to the default setting which is useless. If they can’t be remembered, what is the purpose of owners being able to add customized icons to devices? Edit: If you turn off the 2.4 WiFi band, this will cause the following issue… It shows my active device (laptop/pc, TV ,…)) as offline. Many times refreshed, but still offline. If all the devices are offline, how can I determine if my device is active? Laptop, cell…offline. The problem is solved by turning on WiFi 2.4. It won’t sync with 5 WiFi bands.
What happened to the app? This app used to be very reliable. Binding worked. Optimizements worked. Binding does not work anymore. While optimizations claim that the router assigns the device to it, sometimes the router reassigns the device. It doesn’t work the same way it did before. It is so disappointing.
The app is quite useful and provides a lot of information. It could show the total number of WAN connections for each day, week and month. That’s one thing that I miss. It displays your WiFi password in the app, and there is no way to hide it. This was my second biggest problem. The settings menu doesn’t show it. However, you can access the app from Home and Internet Status. Swipe the real-time traffic to reach Network Name. Click on that link, then your password will be displayed in normal text. The only option is to lock it with a strong password, in case your tablet or phone is lost. However, that would be a huge oversight as the password is visible everywhere.
It’s not always as easy as it seems. ASUS has been frustrating me with the latest update. Every time I attempt to log into the app, I receive an error saying that my connection was not secure, even though it’s solid. This router is connected to an AT&T ARRIS router and firewall. I have had no issues with the ASUS wireless access or ASUS firewall in the last 2 years. It was great to have this app, even though it has never had any problems connecting via my browser.
The app is now essential for me. It used to only have some features, but slowly they added more (almost as many as connecting to your modem directly through the browser). Although the new design is beautiful, I noticed that your network diagnosis feature doesn’t work well with Android. The modem is showing problems when there are none. iOS version passed the test without any problems.
This app is great for ASUS routers. This app is great for diagnosing network problems such as slowness or blackouts. It is usually very simple to update firmware via the app. ASUS must fix issues with the firmware servers. This app has many features, including parental controls and bandwidth limiter. However, I am not able to use them as my children aren’t in the home. This app is useful and good overall.
It no longer connects with my router. I cannot use the standard features of the app. Let me give you an example: A very special feature known as settings isn’t working properly. It’s okay, the main page still contains animations ….. Edit: Months later, nothing has changed. Asus abandoned the app.
